Build: Deployment
Build: Deployment

Installed, integrated and handed over. With a signed record at every site

The build stage covers everything from logistics and installation through to testing, acceptance and handover documentation. Every site has a named engineer. Every delivery has an acceptance record. Nothing is considered complete until the documentation is signed and your team confirms the environment is working.

Where you are

Start here if any of this sounds familiar

  • Devices or infrastructure have been prepared and need to be installed and handed over across one or more locations
  • A multi-site rollout is planned and needs coordinated delivery, installation and signed acceptance at every location
  • A data-centre migration or infrastructure integration project is approaching and needs a single delivery owner
  • A cloud migration is planned and on-premise decommissioning needs to be coordinated in parallel
  • Your IT team does not have the field resource to manage deployment at the required scale or speed
  • A previous deployment was completed without proper acceptance documentation and the gaps are now causing support problems
The problem

Deployment is where technology programmes most commonly fall apart

Hardware is procured. Devices are configured. Then they arrive on-site and the problems start. The site was not ready for installation. The migration ran over the maintenance window. The integration was not tested against acceptance criteria before handover. And when something went wrong after go-live, three vendors pointed at each other, because nobody had clear accountability for the deployment.

More context

Most deployment problems are not technical. They are accountability problems. When no single team owns the full deployment scope, logistics, installation, integration, testing and acceptance, the gaps between those workstreams become your problem.

Deployment without documented acceptance is not deployment. It is an uncontrolled handover that leaves your IT team managing the fallout.

Who is involved

The people involved on your side and ours

IT operations lead

Deployment schedule, site readiness confirmation and technical acceptance criteria.

Project manager

Programme governance, milestone tracking, escalation and stakeholder communication.

Site or facilities manager

Physical access, power availability, network readiness and environmental conditions at each location.

Security team

Network access configuration, endpoint security and compliance verification at deployment.

End users

Device handover, first-use readiness and acceptance sign-off at each site.

What happens

What actually happens, step by step

Logistics

Devices and hardware moved from the build facility to your locations, tracked, insured and delivered against a confirmed schedule.

Details

Proof of delivery at every site before installation begins.

Installation

Physical installation of hardware, endpoint devices, racks, servers, storage, networking and peripherals, to agreed specifications at every location.

Details

Site readiness confirmed before installation begins. No installation starts without the site being ready to receive it.

Multi-site rollout

Coordinated deployment across multiple locations, phased schedules, site-specific delivery and installation records, and central programme governance throughout.

Details

Each site managed as a discrete delivery with its own acceptance record.

Infrastructure integration

New hardware integrated into your existing environment, connectivity, configuration and compatibility verified before handover.

Details

Integration tested against agreed acceptance criteria, not assumed to be working.

Data and workload migration

Structured migration of data, applications and workloads, from on-premise to cloud, between data centres or across platforms.

Details

Testing confirmed before cutover. Rollback plan in place before migration begins.

Cloud migration

Workload and data migration to cloud or hybrid environments, coordinated with networking, licensing and managed services.

Details

On-premise hardware retirement confirmed and coordinated in the same programme where applicable.

Data-centre migration

Physical and logical migration between data-centre facilities, planned, executed and accepted with minimal disruption to live operations.

Details

Decommissioning of the exited environment confirmed and handed to recovery.

Testing and acceptance

Every deployment tested against agreed acceptance criteria before sign-off. Acceptance is not assumed, it is documented.

Details

No handover is completed without a signed acceptance record from your team at every site.

Handover documentation

As-built documentation, configuration records, serial-level delivery confirmation and handover pack provided at the close of every deployment engagement, so your IT team receives a fully documented environment.

What you receive

The documentation you receive

  • Proof of delivery, confirmed at every site before installation begins
  • Installation records, hardware installed to specification at every location
  • Integration and testing confirmation, environment tested against acceptance criteria before handover
  • Signed acceptance documentation, completed at every site before the deployment is closed
  • As-built records, configuration and integration documented as delivered, not as designed
  • Handover pack, everything your IT team needs to operate, support and eventually retire the deployed environment
What happens next

Next stage: Maintain

Once the build stage is complete, the next stage is Maintain, managed services, AMC, service desk, field support, warranty coordination and infrastructure management for the life of the deployed environment.

Read the full transition

If the support scope is not confirmed before deployment is complete, the environment goes live without a support structure in place. Whether the environment was deployed by us or not, it is documented before support begins, so a support team can work from it from day one.
